Candy explosion

I'm looking for good ideas of what to do with all the candy I have left over from Halloween. There were hardly any trick or treaters because of the rain, and I can't have it staring me in the face any more. I'll just eat it. It keeps calling to me from the cauldron.

Yesterday, a friend was telling me she plans to chop it up, freeze it, and use it as ice cream toppings. Great idea, huh? I plan on doing that with some of it, but there's way too much for just that, so I thought I'd throw the question out there to my bloggy friends. You guys are very creative. What else should I do with all this candy?

I love the ice cream topper idea - stealing that one.

I just send it with the hubby to work. It makes it go away and he likes to bring treats in for the staff from time to time. Not too creative, sorry.

I guess you could expand the ice cream idea and also stir the frozen bits into cookie mixes at Christmas time or shakes next summer.

Send it to soldiers overseas.

Hand it out for Christmas.

Mail it to relatives.

Eat what you like and hand out the rest next year.

Don't ask me because I voted for you eating it or me eating it!

I've put mine down in the basement so it's not so handy to eat. I've also put it in the freezer for lunches.

Hmmmm, I'd be digging the chopped up frozen pieces out of the fridge.
Donate it to your local indie bookstore kids' department? Make up bags and give it to homeless people?

I don't buy candy I want for Halloween anymore. Then I can keep it around all year and let the kids eat it now and then, and I'm not tempted.

I let DD throw it out to empower her lol.

You could always feed it to the tortured souls of your characters. ;o)

Lois, I'm happy to provide my mailing address if I can be of any help. :P

Seriously, I just threw out the candy I had leftover. It's a waste, but I figure it's helping me with medical bills in the future.

Dash it! Davin got in with his address first! :(

My second thought was eat it yourself (can't waste perfectly good candy!).

Freezing for icecream toppings is a good idea as well.

You can use some of it for 72 hour kits or food storage. You know, spice up the boring a little bit when disaster strikes. I'm not sure how long the shelf life is for candy though...

Um......I'm stumped. The ice cream topper idea was great. All I do is eat it as fast as I can. The sooner it's gone the sooner I stop eating it. LOL

The hospital where I volunteer has a bowl with candy for anyone who wants a sweet. It's very popular with everyone...
