100 Posts Old!

Woohoo! Here's my 100th post. I've made it this far. I've stuck to it. I've been consistent with my measly 3 days a week, and now I'm celebrating the big 1-0-0. I feel like the tortoise. Slow and steady really can get you there.

I think it's time for a contest! I haven't done any of those. How about a $20 gift card from the Barnes & Noble? That's the ticket! Maybe I can get everyone celebrating with me.

The rules: In the comments today just tell me your favorite picture I've posted or your favorite post that I've done. I'd like to know what is working for you out there in blogland. The contest will go until Thursday night (the 21st) at Midnight (Eastern Time) and then I will put all the names in a hat and draw the winner. To win you have to be a follower. I'll announce who won on Friday.

From the humble beginnings of not even being able to figure out how to include a picture for the life of me (here's the first one I ever got up--my niece and me from photobooth)

to now being able to photoshop the life out it (or into it) before I put it up...

From not being able to figure out what to say... I've come a long way.

I appreciate all of you who've joined me in the journey. You are what make it all worthwhile. Here's looking forward to the next 100 posts!

*Additional note for those of you outside the US who may not have access to Barnes and Noble: I will send you the novel of your choice in the same price range, if you win the contest.

A hearty congratulations on your 100th post!! Here's looking to the 1000th post!! :)

Congratulations, Lois! That's exciting. I'm looking forward to more. I'll pick a favorite blog post since I'm a writer. The photos are quite beautiful, though, don't get me wrong! My favorite recently is your post on authenticity. I think you wrote about a topic that people discuss all the time, but you expressed your ideas clearly and persuasively.

Happy 100 Lois!!! :-) I love all of your posts, and your pictures are stunning. We have Macs here at the school...and my students love the photo booth. One term they stood behind each other and hit the option that makes you have two heads. So, they were all siamese twins. They printed it out and I hung it in my office. Mind you...these are adults. I use photo booth to see if my hair looks ok! j/k

Congratulations!

Drat! We have to pick just one?

Ann, Thanks! Don't forget to pick your favorite thing so you can be included in the contest. Do you have Barnes and Noble where you are? Maybe for the ones out of the US I could just send the novel of your choice for $20 or so.

Davin, I'm glad you liked that post. I bet you'd like the book that inspired it too.

Litgirl, So are you saying that your favorite picture is my first attempt? Haha!

Danyelle, I guess you could pick more than one. It won't hurt my feelings or eject you from the contest.

Huzzah! 100 Posts! :) Most recently I liked the post about authenticity. I do so love the photobooth picture, and I really like your post about Mamma Mia! I knew you would adore it!
(sorry, you know me...can't pick just one) ;)

A. You're so cute! That photobooth shot is great, isn't it? You're in the running.

My favorite is the series of photos where we had to guess where you were. That was just brilliant!!!

I liked the "Don't Skimp on the Shadow" post; I think it's great advice very well illustrated. I may steal that topic for a post on Davin's blog tomorrow, I like it so much!

lotusgirl said...

Beth, Thanks! I had a lot of fun doing that too. I'm glad it worked.

Justus, could it be that I used your idea? or that I gave your little one a shout out?

Scott, I'd love to hear your thoughts on that. Glad you enjoyed my take on it.

You three have your names in the hat.

100 posts is awesome! Enjoy the moment :)

The latest one I really love was no more mishmash. Your words rang true to me. Yuna

lotusgirl said...

Yuna, Glad to hear that rang true with people. That it's not just me.

Happy 100! That's exciting! Your posts have always been a joy to read and offer thoughtful tips on writing. I'm really glad we found each other.

I, too, loved the "Don't Skimp on the Shadows" post. I thought that was a lovely analogy.

Yay for 100! Congrats! I'm glad I could be here for some of them:)

Hmm...I love a lot of your posts, but the pic that is sticking out for me is the one of your gorgeous daughter and her red hair. The shadow one was also really cool.

Happy 100th post! That's kind of exciting. I am still baby stepping my way there.

My favorite picture is the one you put above with the flowers. It's more recent, I know, but I remember commenting on it before because it was just so striking. I love bold colors and flowers. Perfect!

lotusgirl said...

Jodi, Thanks! I'm glad we've found each other too.

Natalie, You redheads have to stick together.

Cindy, Your baby steps on your blog are pretty grown up.

You three are added to the hat!

Happy 100 posts! I remember the pic of the caterpillars -- I think the post was on how we change and grow as writers. That was a super cool one.

And, hurray for contests!!

I love all your posts and all your pics!!!! My fav would have to be the Disney trip post. The pic was the one with the disney shaped pumpkin (fall is my favorite season and I'm a sucker for a giant pumpkin...) So pick me!!!!

Eric said...

I regret to say I have not been a follower enough to know which picture I like best. But accept my heartfelt congrats on getting to post 100. I was just thinking about this (for my blog that is) recently. Ironic.

lotusgirl said...

Tess, Thanks! and Prizes! You're in the hat.

T. Anne, Those pumpkins cracked me up. I loved their cheerful colors. Your name's in too.

Eric, If you want to be in the hat for the drawing you have to pick something. You could flip through some of my former posts and see what strikes your fancy.

Just discovered your blog today. So this post is my favorite :) Congrats on the milestone!
My fav pics were your Disneyworld photos (mainly cuz it's my backyard and I love it). The Rockin' Roller Coaster track was my fav. LOVE that ride :)

Michelle D. Argyle said...

You know my favorite. It has to do with the whole "emerging from a cocoon" thing.

Fly, Monarch, FLY!!!!

lotusgirl said...

Karen, Thanks for playing. I'm glad you found me. That Rockin' Roller Coaster is a fun ride!

Glam, Yep. Caterpillars and Butterflies. I should have guessed. That Monarch is just still in the cocoon.

You're both in the hat.

Congratulations! 100 posts is an achievement!

I've only been reading you for a little while but my favourite post was the one you did on Shadows in writing. MY favourite pictures were the ones of DC - loved them. Especially the bright coloured houses.

lotusgirl said...

TTWC, That's great. You know I love them.

Alexa, That was a cool street. Michelle and I couldn't get over it. DC is such a great city.

Happy 100!

Favorite picture.... um... there are so many. The perspectives one if the most intriguing. I like any of the flowers for my wall.

But I think the one I remember best is the dog in the snow in this pic:

Wow ... Happy 100!!! That's awesome! One of my most favorite pictures is actually the one you included again in this post ... the blossoms against the brilliant blue sky - - gorgeous!!! Congrats again!

Congratulations!

I loved the photos from Washington, of the monument and the neighborhoods. And I really liked the post with the snow where you talked about shadows and light. The posts comparing photography and writing are great. Loved the interview with Glam, too :^)

lotusgirl said...

Kelly, Thanks!

Sherrie, That shadow post has been pretty popular.

You two are in the hat.

A! I love seeing candid shots of blogging friends! We're so far from each other, but the writing/art/photography similarities are so beautiful to me-I love ya'll!! :)
Hugs and congrats!!

WooHOO! I enjoyed your "Morphing" blog post, comparing caterpillars turning into butterflies with the writing process.

But, I really enjoy your reviews also :-)

Congrats!
