It seems like every time I turn around there's another something keeping me from writing (and blogging). Life seems to rear it's pushy head and take precedence. One of these days I might actually make progress on my writing, but, as for today, it ain't happening. I get to sit out in the muggy NC air and watch my sweet littlest one compete in Field Day. All day. Actually it will be very cute, and I will take lots of pictures, but... No writing will get done. Sigh.

I can relate! Today my kids have off from school. We are headed to the movies though :-)
Good luck to your little one!
Amen, sister! I'm with you here.
I have a love / hate relationship with the distractions of summer....love the kiddos, sun and fun ... hate what it does to my writing :s
We had field day last week. It was fun, though I did get sunburned. Kids are already out for the summer and we're looking forward to it!
I hear you. Coffee. Late nights. All help.
Life is always more important than the art, at least in my opinion. Enjoy your day, Lois! :)
Aww. Field Day was always so much fun!
There's writing and there's writing. :) Taking notes (mentally or on paper) while watching an activity counts. And you'll have a bunch of photos to get story ideas from. You're not putting words on paper at the field trip (or while shopping, or sitting in the dentist's office), but that doesn't mean you're wasting your time. As Alexander Steele says, "Pondering is a major part of the [writer's] job.

Good luck to the little ones!
You know where your priorities are. :)
I get it! We will be here when you get back :).
Doesn't your littlest one know you're trying to become a zillionaire? Man!
It was muggy here yesterday and it made me miss North Carolina. My son just said it's his favorite state!
Life is more important. The words can wait.
I'm so glad that all of you understand that life is more important. We had a good time at the field day. My little one did great. At the end she said it was one the best days ever. The heat was sweltering. The humidity was so-so. I was just glad that it didn't rain. I got sunburned, but I too was happy.
Hi! I'm Christy McKay Peake - I'm in the Camden Ward. Just found your blog, through Alyssa's, and I love it!! I just started a YA novel myself, just had an idea and I'm running with it. Now If I can just find the time to write!
Your blog is great, I'll be back often!
...I remember field day when I was in 3rd grade...They had a snow cone machine, and I waited in a line for 30 minutes for my perfect, grape snow cone. When I got the front of the line, they ran out! It was horrible!
Don't let an atrocity like that happen to one of ur kiddos! They'll be scarred for life!
Enjoy it!
