Hint: The background can help.

This is the plant stand my father made for the back deck when I lived at the beach house. Right now, it is in my kitchen and I am using it to hold the microwave and my cook books. How did you know?
Lol.

If I had to guess at what it REALLY is, I would say it is a turnstile. Or maybe a plant stand.

It's for mounting a horse. For those individuals who need extra help (like the disabled).

That or it's exercise equipment.

Okay, I have no idea.

I think I like Stina's answer better.

And I think we should go to lunch again. Did I mention that? Email me when it's convenient. I've been dying to go back to that restaurant.

Playground equipment. A really old playground.

It reminds me of the exercise stops along a running trail. We have those around here, where you run a while, then have a stop to do some specific exercise. This looks like a step up and down kind of thing.

But I like the idea of the horse blocks, too. That seems much more likely!

Definitely for mounting a horse. Old houses sometimes have a marble block next to the curb for that still. This one must be the deluxe model because it has two steps. :)

Um did someone once polish their shoes on that?

It looks like a... I don't know how to spell it. Stye? For climbing over a fence or hedge? Either that, or a horse mount.

I'm stumped ... and curious to hear if it is for mounting a horse!
