Wednesday's Wonders--Seeds

For the last couple months we've been having fun with science fair. My youngest decided to compare how plants grow in sand, soil, water, and water with paper towel.
She used red kidney beans.
After only 5 days she had this happening. Check out those roots. She was amazed at the growth. So was I (and I've done this before and seen it before. It blows my mind every time.)
The results showed that the soil worked best.
The one in the sand did pretty well too. Here she is documenting her results.
The power contained in a little seed amazes me. It always seems miraculous. It is a wonder.

I SO remember doing this at that age! So much fun! And yes, the power in a little seed. Or a little idea if it's properly nourished. ;)

Jenni, Everyone kept saying they were just like magic beans.

Glam, Yep. We gotta nourish those little ideas and make them grow.

Tess, Thanks. She took her big tri-fold presentation poster today. She was so excited.

Wow, that's awesome. It's amazing the difference of growth even between the sand and the soil. How fun.

I remember doing that experiment. My son did an apple tree one and we still have it in our back yard.

Cool! There's a huge analogy in there somewhere regarding both life and writing! BTW, we have the same granite. Lovely isn't it?

Seeds really are awesome when you stop and think about them.
It's been a while since we've tried to grow beans. Sounds like a nice project for this summer.

Oh the power of a tiny seed is a miracle, and reminds me of the power of a tiny mustard seed.
